GA passes another landmark
In week one of round 4’s fixture against Sydney University, Glenn Aitken scored his 6,000th grade run during his innings of 93.
Glenn has now scored 6,076 grade runs at an average of 21.70, a terrific achievement that sits alongside his 465 wickets at 27.81. Glenn has scored 3,868 of his runs, and taken 341 of his wickets, in first grade, making him one of only 80 players in the 3,000 run and 300 wicket club in more than 120 years of grade cricket in Sydney.
Glenn’s allround abilities have long been in evidence. In the 2012/13 first grade limited overs grand final, it was Glenn’s assured 86 that formed the backbone of Norths' winning total of 197 in a match where no other player passed 50.
Since joining the Bears in 2005/06, Glenn has been a peerless leader, having led both first, and now second, grade with great acumen. UTS North Sydney’s up and coming young players are fortunate to benefit from Glenn’s keen cricket brain and invaluable experience on a weekly basis.
