Women's Cricket Expression of Interest

The UTS North Sydney Bears entered its inaugural women's side in the U18 Brewer Shield competition in 2018/19 and has been a cornerstone of the competition in the seasons since.

The Brewer Shield is the perfect entry point to a grade cricket career and beyond. UTS North Sydney is one of the foundation clubs of grade cricket in Sydney and enjoys enviable facilities only a short distance from the CBD.

Brewer Shield runs on Sundays from October to March and is part of CNSW's elite cricket pathway.

In 2019/20 the club entered its first open-age women's side in the NSW Premier Women's Cricket third grade competition. In 2020/21, the third grade side made the 40-over qualifying final.

The Bears' third grade side plays on Saturday afternoons from October until March. It is hard ball cricket but caters for a wide range of skills levels and experiences. We encourage women of all ages to have a go and enjoy being part of the club socially, as well as on the field.

The women's program is overseen by head coach, Michelle Goszko. As a former test player with a test double-century to her name and a coach of great experience, Michelle is a remarkable resource for the UTS North Sydney players to draw upon. Michelle is ably assisted by assistant coaches Rob Aitken and Alan Gibbons.
