Gary Whitaker, Director of Cricket – Men’s

Gary came to UTS North Sydney with a wealth of coaching experience having led grade and shires clubs for over a decade. Gary's resume is littered with achievements, including first grade premierships, a club championship and winning 2013/14’s SCA Coach of the Year award while at Sydney University.

Before commencing on his coaching career, Gary had a lengthy grade cricket career as a pace bowler. Gary's love for the game is evident in his continued playing career, having represented his state in Veterans' cricket

Gary manages the men’s cricket program at UTS NSDCC, including player development and preparation and engaging experienced professionals to assist Norths players improve their cricket.

Gary is a Level 3 coach and holds a Masters degree in coaching.


Michelle Goszko, Director of Cricket - Women's

Michelle brings an intimidating playing a coaching pedigree to UTS North Sydney's women's program. Michelle's playing career included scoring a test double century and winning a world cup in front of the largest crowd ever recorded at a women's cricket match.

After her playing career Michelle has been heavily involved in the NSW pathways program for junior girls, recently coaching the NSW Metro U15 squad at the national championships.

Michelle manages the women's cricket program at UTS NSDCC, overseeing all aspects of the program.

Michelle is a Level 3 coach who also runs level 1 programs for CNSW.


Jason Krejza, Junior Development Manager

Jason’s brings international playing experience and extensive coaching acumen to the development of UTS North Sydney’s young players. Jason represented Australia at the 2011 World Cup, famously claimed 12 wickets on test debut and scored two first class centuries.

Jason continues to play cricket around the world, including having taken part in the 2020 Road Safety World Series in India, alongside players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Muttiah Muralitharan and Brian Lara.

Since he completed his professional playing career with NSW, Tasmania and Australia, Jason has focussed on growing his coaching business, Elite Cricket.

Jason coaches UTS North Sydney’s AW Green Shield side as well as the club's Development Squad and juniors pathway.

Jason is a Level 3 coach who has provided specialist coaching to CNSW's pathways players.


Todd Harper, Training Co-ordinator

Todd has been heavily involved with grade cricket, first with Manly-Warringah, and now at UTS North Sydney. Todd's passion for cricket, and to see UTS North Sydney's players maximise their abilities, is immense.

Todd’s wears many hats, including managing the two weekly training sessions at Bon Andrews, managing the Poidevin-Gray team, providing match-day support for first grade.

Todd is a Level 2 coach.

Olly Knight, Assistant Coach - Fielding

Knight T20

Olly Knight joined the Bears in 2014 and quickly worked his way through the grades first as a seamer, and latterly as an explosive allrounder. He already has over 50 games in the top grade.

Through his cricketing journey, one constant has been Olly's superb fielding, be it around the bat, on the boundary, or anywhere in between. Olly brings this skillset to his role as the club's assistant fielding coach.

Olly has extensive rugby and cricket coaching experience, built on his professional base as a teacher. He specialises in imparting his knowledge on others, helping them find their required work ethic.

Olly is a Level 2 coach.

Ashley Perrott, Fielding Coach

Ashley is also an accomplished sportsman, having played first grade rugby and competitive athletics. Ashley joins the Bears to assist Ray with sprint coaching and to facilitate fielding sessions.

Ash is a Level 2 coach.

Ray Beattie, Sprint Coach

Ray has a formidable resume, including playing first grade rugby league, sprinting professionally, holding a directorship at the AIS and being a black belt in karate. Physical movement all comes back to sprinting technique, and the Bears are fortunate to have Ray’s leadership in this area.
