Simon Keen, Men's Head Coach

The Bears welcome Simon Keen into the role of Head Coach for 2025/26. Simon joins with a very impressive cricket history having spent many years as a professional within Sydney grade cricket, as well as stints in the UK and NZ over the past two decades. Simon represented Australia U19s, and was selected for NSW in 2nd XI, List A and T20 matches. He also represented Victoria 2nd XI during a season playing in Melbourne and played with Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers in the BBL between 2012 and 2015. Simon has also had previous involvement with the Bears, having played in the Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup for us in the 2018/19 season. In his coaching career, Simon has spent time as a specialist coach with the Emerging Blues, held Head Coach roles at Junior Academies, and as a High Performance Manager at national level. In most recent years he has been the Head Coach at clubs on the Central Coast as well as various rep teams. Simon’s high-level playing and coaching experience will be a huge asset to the club.

Petar Sredojevic, Women's Head Coach

A Level 3–qualified coach, Petar Sredojevic leads our women’s program with an evidence-based approach to player development. He joined the Bears as an Assistant Coach focussed on the Brewer Shield team in 2024/25 and was appointed Women’s Head Coach for 2025/26 after a successful season working across the squad. A former NSW Premier Cricket player with Penrith and Petersham-Marrickville, Petar also coaches in high-performance environments, bringing modern methods and strong technical detail to every session.

Warren Evans, Men’s Assistant Coach

Warren Evans is joins Bears’ coaching team as an Assistant Coach. Warren played over 30 years of grade cricket for Manly, taking over 700 wickets as a fast bowler, scoring over 5,400 runs, and spending many years captaining teams. He also represented NSW and Australia in under-age cricket. Warren will be working at training with our fast bowlers across the men’s grades, including video analysis, to help their development. He will also spend time on fielding drills, sharing that with Liam, and provide valuable leadership experience to our young captains. Warren’s knowledge, experience and leadership will be a great addition to the coaching team under Simon, and to the club overall.

Robert Aitken, Women’s Assistant Coach

A Bears legend and club life member, Robbie supports the women’s program with decades of grade experience and a calm, game-smart presence. He was NSW Premier Cricket’s first player to reach 500 First Grade matches and has amassed more than 11,000 runs and 600 wickets—credentials that translate into outstanding mentoring for our aspiring players. Robbie has been part of the women’s coaching setup in recent seasons, including co-coaching the club’s Brewer Shield (U18) squad and Premiership-winning Second Grade side, and continues to model the standards and culture we value

Tim Reynolds, AW Green Shield and Poidevin-Gray Shield Coach

Tim has been with the Bears since his own first season of Green Shield, and has become a key member of the Bears’ First Grade team. Tim took on the role as Head Coach for the Green Shield team in 2023/24 after being involved as Assistant Coach prior to that. This year, Tim is also taking on the role of coach of the Bears PGs team. Tim brings significant cricket expertise and experience to the group and is passionate about developing our junior club members into grade players of the future. Tim also runs our Bears Winter Academy training program as well as programs for the junior club for the various age groups.

Michelle Goszko, Women’s High Performance Specialist Coach

Michelle is a Level 3 coach who brings an intimidating playing and coaching pedigree to UTS North Sydney women's program. Michelle's playing career included scoring a test double century and winning a world cup in front of the largest crowd ever recorded at a women's cricket match. After her playing career Michelle has been heavily involved in the NSW pathways program for junior girls, recently coaching the NSW Metro U15 squad at the national championships. She was our Director of Women’s Cricket from inauguration of the women’s program in 2018 until 2025, culminating in two Second Grade premierships. We are delighted that she remains with the Bears to provide specialist high-performance coaching focussing on batting.

Liam Whitaker, Men's Fielding Coach

Liam has been playing grade cricket for more than 10 years, playing every grade all the way to First Grade. Liam was captain of the Bears’ Third Grade team in 2023/24 and 2024/25, winning the SCA award for Third Grade Captain of the Year in the first of these years and leading the team to Semi-Finals in the second. Liam’s goal is to make everyone into the best fielder they can be by bringing passion, energy and knowledge to this very important part of the game. His philosophy is that fielding should be fun and something people look forward to. Liam is focusing on making sure the club’s fielding sessions are enjoyable and dynamic as he strives to take the club to the level of being the best fielding club in premier cricket.

Lachlan Dodd

Lachlan Dodd, Strength & Conditioning

Lachlan Dodd is Head of Strength & Conditioning at UTS. Lachlan completed his BA in Sport and Exercise Science at UTS and has experience as a Sports Scientist and Strength & Conditioning coach with the NRL. Lachlan works closely with our coaching staff in developing tailored S&C programs for each of our players as well as assisting with group S&C work with our playing group at preseason and during the season.
