UTS Elite Athlete Program

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and UTS North Sydney District Cricket Club have partnered together to create an academic and sporting support pathway for talented cricketers. The UTS North Sydney Scholarship program is an application-based program in which participants are eligible to receive benefits and services such as:

  • Specialised strength & conditioning coaching and tailored training programs
  • Free use of ActivateFit.Gym at UTS
  • Cash, UniSport an International Travel Grants
  • Complimentary UTS Sport and UTS EAP apparel
  • Academic tutoring services
  • Professional development and networking
  • Academic assistance and advocacy including timetable and enrolment support

The scholarship program is open to 2023 school leavers, current UTS students, those seeking to undertake university studies or students at other tertiary institutions who wish to apply.

All applications are assessed on merit and will be based on the requirements of the club at that point in time. Successful candidates will be notified in writing. Applications for current UTS students or those starting their studies in Autumn 2023 for mid-year entry to the EAP must be made to both the club (see below) and UTS (click here) by 7 July 2023.

Elite Athlete Special Admission Scheme

The Elite Athlete or Performers Special Admissions Scheme provides students who are applying for a course five adjustment points towards the standard ATAR cut-off for their chosen UTS course.

You’re considered an elite athlete if you’ve officially represented your school or state at national competitions.

You’ll need to demonstrate that education has been affected by elite level training or performing commitments during pre-university study. Specifically, you’ll need to show evidence that your team representation took place during Years 11 and 12 or during other studies relevant to your UTS application and that your team selection was competitive.

Eligibility requirements

  • Represent your school or state at a national level during years 11 and 12 (or other relevant studies)
  • Team selections/competition results must be competitive
  • Australian resident/permanent citizen
  • Minimum ATAR 69.00
