Bears Representatives Shine
UTS North Sydney players continue to take strides at the next level as Hamish Reynolds competes at the U14 boys’ state challenge, Liz Buckley and Mridula Thirupathy take part in this week’s U13 girls’ state challenge, and Toby Laybutt is selected in the U16 state challenge.
Hamish is competing for the Metro Sixers South East and has been a standout young player for the Bears this season. A talented allrounder, Hamish hit his maiden fifth grade fifty in round 4 against Sydney University and is average over 35 in fourth and fifth grade so far this season.
Liz (pictured) was a foundation member of our Brewer Shield side and continues to impress with her canny seamers. She is representing the Metro Thunder in Wellington. Also representing the Metro Thunder is first year Bear, Mridula. Mridula impressed in Brewer Shield immediately, top scoring in her first match.
Toby impressed with the ball for UTS North Sydney’s AW Green Shield side this season. He provided great control with the new ball and at the death, taking 8 wickets at 23.5 with an economy rate of just 3.56. He has earned his spot in the NSW Metro Thunder U16 squad and will take field next week at Blacktown.
