Shiloh Julien Cleans Up During Awards Season
On Friday at the NSW Premier Cricket awards dinner, Shiloh Julien won two gongs to put the icing on her incredible season. Shiloh was named Brewer Shield Player of the Year and Brewer Shield Captain of the Year. These most recent achievements add to her being the Player of the Brewer Shield Grand Final and the NSW Women's Cricket Umpires' Association Player of the Year as well as becoming the first ever female winner of our club's Bevyn White Cricketer of the Year award.
Shiloh was the leading run-scorer in the Brewer Shield competition with 843 runs at 60.21, and the second-highest wicket-taker with 29 wickets at 10.96, so the player of the year award must have been a foregone conclusion! Shiloh's consistency was remarkable - opening the batting, she passed 50 on seven occasions with a highest score of 84 and was not out in six innings, and her off-spin took three or more wickets in innings four times with best figures of 4/8. Equally impressive was Shiloh's mature leadership of an under 18 side at the age of 14, and it's no surprise that she finished top of the ladder for Brewer Shield captaincy, based on umpires' scores across the season.
Shiloh and her family (her sister, Sharon, is also a member of the Brewer Shield squad and her dad, Julien, is an Assistant Coach) are integral to the Bears' women's program, and we are so proud of Shiloh's achievements this season. We can't wait to see what next season will bring!
