GA passes 5000 runs for the Bears

Glenn Aitken 5000 runs

Congratulations to Glenn Aitken who passed 5000 runs for the Bears during his round 5 half century against Sydney.

Glenn’s achievement is all the more remarkable given his 341 first grade wickets, 263 of which he has claimed since he joined the Bears in 2005/06 – placing him 10th of the club’s all-time first grade wicket-takers list.

Glenn’s 5,029 runs for the club have come at an average of 24.18. Since a severe shoulder injury forced GA to focus solely on his batting after the 2015/16 season, he has collected just shy of 2000 runs at an average of 31.23. His form this season has been spectacular – with his 263 runs coming at an average over 65.

Glenn has been a peerless leader, having led both first, and now second, grade with great acumen. He has also served diligently as a member of the club’s committee since 2017. UTS North Sydney’s up and coming young players are fortunate to benefit from Glenn’s keen cricket brain and invaluable experience on a weekly basis.
