Brewer season kicks off

TFixtures 2019-20 Brewerhis Sunday marks the first match in the Bears 2019/20 Brewer Shield season. This is the second season for UTS North Sydney’s U18 women’s team and the girls will be striving to build on the significant improvements made in 2018/19.

The season kicks off at Tunks International Sports Park against Sydney before facing the ever-strong Northern Districts away the following week.

The Bears’ women’s program is overseen by Director of Women’s Cricket, and Test double centurion, Michelle Goszko. Michelle has worked closely with captain Genevieve O’Brien to foster an environment that has seen the Brewer girls come along in leaps and bounds already.

Last year’s star batters, skipper O’Brien and Grace Keating will again be looking to build big partnerships early in the innings. The team will miss spearhead and U15 state representative, Amelia Sim, as she recovers from injury, however last year’s top wicket-taker, Lucy Warren, is poised to make another leap in performance again this year.

What better way to spend a Sunday than to cheer on the next wave of women’s cricketers as they don the red and black and strive for victory at picturesque Tunks Park.
