Amelia Flies the Flag for the Bears at Nationals

UTS North Sydney Brewer Shield vice-captain, Amelia Sim, heads to the ACT this week to represent NSW Metro at the U15 National Championships.

Amelia joined the Bears last season to be part of our inaugural Brewer Shield team. She proved an invaluable addition, topping the team’s bowling averages with her sharp seamers, despite being U14 in an U18 competition.

This season has proven frustrating as Amelia has been hampered by injury. Nonetheless, she has been a supportive team mate to the Brewer and third grade sides and superb coach to our junior club’s aspiring cricketers.

After finally getting the all clear to bowl again, Amelia ripped through Manly’s top order last week. She claimed the remarkable figures of 2/3 from 5 overs in the 40 over a side match as the Bears fell agonisingly short of an underdog victory.
