They finished first and third respectively in the aggregate ladder across all clubs, and were instrumental in us gaining a place in the top six. Matt and James will share the $1,000 prize provided by Access RnD. James took 41 wickets at 13.8 in 15 rounds across First and Second Grade, as well as scoring 240 runs at 20. In a truly remarkable statistic, James did this without claiming a 5-fa but he had eight hauls of three or more wickets, showing his pure consistency. In a season where he brought up his 300th First Grade appearance, James showed his versatility - leading with the ball while also contributing with the bat. Therefore we have joint winners, James Aitken and Niranjan Naguleswaran. Captain @g_aitken said in our virtual presentation night that "both players led from the front with their reliable performances, often winning games from extremely difficult positions for us." Both thoroughly deserve this award after fabulous seasons. James took 33 2s wickets at an astounding average of 12.5 and scored 217 runs at 21.7, while Niranjan took 27 wickets at 22 and scored 285 runs at 23.8 including two fifties.
