They finished first and third respectively in the aggregate ladder across all clubs, and were instrumental in us gaining a place in the top six. Matt and James will share the $1,000 prize provided by Access RnD. James took 41 wickets at 13.8 in 15 rounds across First and Second Grade, as well as scoring 240 runs at 20. Therefore we have joint winners, James Aitken and Niranjan Naguleswaran. Captain @g_aitken said in our virtual presentation night that "both players led from the front with their reliable performances, often winning games from extremely difficult positions for us." Both thoroughly deserve this award after fabulous seasons. James took 33 2s wickets at an astounding average of 12.5 and scored 217 runs at 21.7, while Niranjan took 27 wickets at 22 and scored 285 runs at 23.8 including two fifties. Izaak has always bowled consistent off-spin but this year really emerged with the bat as well, taking on more responsibility. He played just four games for 4s but was devastating in two of them, including the extraordinary win over St George which featured in our Games of the Season. In his Fourth Grade season, Izaak scored 151 runs at 75.5 including two 50s, and took 10 wickets at 15.8 with best figures of 4/57, to add to his impressive stats for Third and Fifth Grades. Amy is a wicketkeeper-bat who joined the club this season and (as well as featuring as a regular in the Brewer Shield team) played three games for our women's side. She scored 39 runs with a top score of 31*, made her first ever stumping and swapped the pads for the ball to take her first wicket when we were short of bowlers against Gordon - a true all-rounder and team player! Coach @gozzy06 is very proud of her improvement through the year, and we can't wait to see what she produces next season.
