Bears taste representative success

Over the past fortnight, a trio of Bears have been showcasing their skills at the U17 National Championships and the U19 State Challenge.

Reynolds tops the charts for dominant NSW Metro

Reynolds Cup

Tim Reynolds continued his rick vein of form, topping NSW Metro’s run-scoring charts as he helped propel them to victory in the U17 National Championships in Brisbane. Tim tallied 281 runs for the tournament, highlighted by a characteristically destructive 103 against Victoria Country. Tim showed his immense power, striking a tournament-high 16 sixes on route to the trophy.

Low-McMahon fights for ACT/NSW Country in repechage final

2016/17 North Sydney Green Shield representative, Josh Low-McMahon, also played some fine innings as ACT/NSW Country fought their way to the quarter finals of the U17 National Championships. Unfortunately, the weather played the defining innings in their quarter final against NSW Metro and ACT/NSW Country were knocked out of the main draw. Undeterred, they made the repechage final where Josh top-scored for his side in a heartbreaking one run loss.

Leerdam stars at U19 State Challenge

While his younger club-mates were strutting their stuff in Queensland, North Sydney Poidevin-Gray representative, Daniel Leerdam, was starring in the U19 State Challenge in Sydney. Daniel struck 114 runs for the tournament, including 84 in the final match against a highly-fancied Country Sixers side. Daniel’s feats placed him in the top 10 runscorers in the tournament and set him in good stead to make a statement in this season’s PGs competition.
